What you will achieve

Move to Windows 11 with backups done and hardware requirements confirmed — avoid surprise blockers mid-install.

1) Confirm hardware requirements

  1. Open Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update on Windows 10.
  2. Run PC Health Check and confirm TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, and supported CPU.
  3. Back up user data and export BitLocker recovery keys if device encryption is enabled.

2) Start upgrade safely

  1. Use Windows 11 Installation Assistant from Microsoft for in-place upgrades.
  2. Keep the laptop on AC power and do not force reboot during migration phases.

3) Post-upgrade checks

  • Activation: Settings → System → Activation.
  • Drivers: Device Manager should have no warning icons.
  • Security: Windows Security real-time protection enabled.
