What you will achieve
Turn a fresh Windows install into a daily-driver system without missing activation, drivers, or security basics.
1) Finish security and update baseline
- Open Settings → Windows Update and install all pending updates, rebooting as needed.
- Open Windows Security and confirm Firewall and Virus & threat protection are active.
- Enable restore points for the system drive under System Protection.
2) Install core drivers and apps
- Use vendor chipset, graphics, and Wi-Fi/Ethernet drivers for your exact model.
- Install browsers, password manager, and backup tool before day-to-day use.
3) Configure backup immediately
Set up File History or a cloud sync profile before creating new documents.
