1) Connect a dedicated backup drive
Use an external disk that stays attached for scheduled backups.
2) Turn on File History
- Open Control Panel → File History.
- Select drive and choose Turn on.
- Use Advanced settings to set backup frequency and retention.
3) Test restore immediately
Restore one test file so you know recovery works before you need it.
