1) Find current key IDs
manage-bde -protectors -get C:2) Back up to Microsoft account and offline
- In BitLocker control panel, click Back up your recovery key.
- Save one copy in Microsoft account and one offline (encrypted password manager or printed copy in safe).
3) Confirm recovery process
Document which machine maps to which recovery key ID so you do not hunt for the right key during an outage.
