What you will achieve

Roll back an update that broke boot, drivers, or apps — then decide whether to pause reinstallation.

1) Remove update from Settings

  1. Open Settings → Windows Update → Update history → Uninstall updates.
  2. Select the most recent KB that matches when the issue began, then choose Uninstall.
  3. Restart and confirm the problem is gone.

2) Remove update from command line

If Settings fails, use Admin Command Prompt:

wmic qfe list brief /format:table
wusa /uninstall /kb:5039212 /quiet /norestart

3) Pause updates temporarily

  1. Open Settings → Windows Update.
  2. Set Pause updates for up to 1 week while Microsoft ships a fix.
