Create a Time Machine backup before major updates, disk operations, or security changes on macOS.
What you will achieve

1) Run Time Machine backup
- Connect backup disk and open System Settings → General → Time Machine.
- Click Back Up Now and wait for completion.
2) Export key data
- Export password manager vault or emergency kit where supported.
- Record licence keys for paid apps.
- Confirm iCloud Photos/Documents sync status.
3) Prove backup is usable
Enter Time Machine and restore one test file before starting upgrade.
