Create a Time Machine backup before major updates, disk operations, or security changes on macOS.

What you will achieve

Protect iCloud, App Store, and Find My with proper Apple ID MFA.

1) Enable 2FA

  1. Open System Settings → [your name] → Password & Security.
  2. Turn on two-factor authentication and confirm trusted phone number.

2) Add recovery controls

  • Set account recovery contact.
  • Enable Recovery Key if you can store it safely.

3) Review trusted devices

Remove old Macs/iPhones from Apple ID device list.
